Melania’s Childhood

Melania Knauss was born on April 26, 1970, in Novo Mesto in southeastern Slovenia. She is the daughter of Viktor Knauss, a car dealer and Amalija, a pattern maker for children’s clothing. She studied at the University of Ljubljana for a year before leaving to pursue her modelling ambitions.

Melania’s Modelling Career

Melania started her career in 1988 in Milan. She moved to New York in 1996, where she signed to a number of campaigns and appeared in numerous fashion shoots. Melania has appeared on the covers of Ocean Drive, New York Magazine, Allure, InStyle Weddings, American Vogue Bulgaria etc. And in 2000, she was featured a bikini model in the 2000 Sports Illustrated Issue. 

How She Met The President Of The USA

After Melania moved to the United States, she met Donald Trump in 1988. Their first date was at Moomba in New York. He proposed to her in 2004 and after a year they married at Mar-a-Lago, Trump’s Palm Beach estate. She became Donald’s third wife and stepmother to his four children Donald Junior, Ivanka, Eric And Tiffany.

Melania Trump’s Wedding Dress

Melania got married to Donald in a John Galliano for Christian Dior Couture wedding dress. The dress was said to cost more than $100,000. It was embellished with 1,500 crystals and comprising a 13ft train. It took 550 hours to complete this fabulous gown.
