Past trends we long forgot about (or so we thought) have made a recent comeback: chokers, slip dresses, skinny jeans — well, those never go out of style — but you get the point. Also the skinny scarf trend is one of those 70s fashion trends that you just can’t ignore as they are everywhere now. Everyone is mad about it, from fashion bloggers to runway models, from celebrities to best dressed women in bars and restaurants.
True, the skinny scarf doesn’t give as much service—aka warmth—as its counterparts (think: cozy oversized styles), but it will earn you some serious style points. From looping them over a crisp white shirt, letting them flow freely aside a coat or leather jacket to using them as a nouveau cocktail dress accessory, nothing says ‘cool girl’ as instantly as the skinny scarf.
But how exactly do you tie one on? Depending on your personality you can tie them in a number of different ways: draped loosely around your neck, tightly as a ‘choker’, or even tied in a bow at the neck for a cheeky, feminine look. I like to wrap it twice around my neck then leave the ends to hang loose. To draw more attention to my neck, I added a pendant necklace.
Below, I have chosen several outfits with skinny scarf to get you inspired of how to wear this type of scarf. Check them out and let me know which one of them did you like the best.
