Hey my beautiful ladies! Today’s treat comes in the form of Basil Soda’s Fall-Winter 2015-2016 Couture Collection.
Voyage of the Beirut designer Basil Soda began with a specialization in architecture which lead him back to his first love; fashion design. He spent time working with fellow couturier Elie Saab – the fruits of which could be seen in his collection today. It was embellished, beaded and incredibly evening wear-orientated. In the year 2000 he decided to embark on his own and establish his Fashion House. His unique expertise in design and construction has allowed him to master the perfect cut and fit. From his new sanctuary, Basil Soda talks openly of his love of architecture; a favorite subject and constant source of inspiration, from which he has borrowed fine-cut lines, a unity of pace and purity of volume. An aesthetic based on the juxtaposition of two extremes; strength and fragility. Always playing on the duality of a woman; hopelessly romantic yet mysteriously dark.
Soda isn’t the biggest of names on the couture calendar but his designs are regulars on the red carpets come award season – Marion Cotillard, Morena Baccarrin, Emily Blunt and Katy Perry have all worn his creations.
Today, his pieces of art can be found in many cities all over the world, such as Toronto, New York, Washington, Vienna, Cannes, Moscow, Dubai, Beirut, all the way to Thailand, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Singapore.
Basil Soda’s newly released Couture collection for Fall/Winter 2015-2016 features some of the hottest evening gowns of the season! Building on the pale palette of the Lebanese label’s Spring 2015 couture collection, for Fall, they have incorporated jewel tones of garnet, emerald, soft pastel pink and orange perfect for a black or white-tie wedding this coming season. Featuring luxe tulle and lace elements with the most brilliant shape and silhouettes, the collection reflects the designer’s creative edginess. My favorite dresses from the collection feature luxe details such as oversized bow-detailed backs, unique tulle layering and sweeping feathered skirts.
I would love to hear your thoughts for this collection! Please feel free to leave me a comment! Thank you for reading! Enjoy in the rest of your day, and stay up for more next time!
