What to Wear to the Australian Cup

With the Australian Cup being such a prestigious event, it’s no wonder some people spend months getting the perfect outfit together. There is no specific dress code for this race, but many people like to make a statement and take the opportunity to dress up.

For anyone wanting to know how to make a splash, here’s our guide to what to wear at the Australian Cup 2024.

Ladies Dress Code

When you think of spending a day at the races in Autumn, you need to be prepared to embrace elegance and sophistication…and hats! The dress code varies depending on the admission of the race. There are different expectations for the dress code set according to different areas, which includes general admissions to members.

Here’s what to wear on a day out at the races:

Choosing the perfect dress comes down to wearing one that keeps the dignity of the Member’s Enclosure and other areas. So opt for dresses that reach the knee or have a longer length.

Ladies are encouraged to wear hats and other headwear. In previous years, wearing hats was a symbol of wealth and status. While that may not be the exact reason nowadays, it’s still a fabulous tradition to take part in.

In keeping with matching the elegance and excitement of the event, ladies are expected to wear heels, preferably short ones.
