Atelier Pronovias 2017 Collection

Spanish bridal wear brand Pronovias has unveiled its Atelier Pronovias 2017 haute couture collection at the Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week, showcasing the latest trends in the world of wedding dresses.

The Atelier Pronovias 2017 collection features:

Fine fabrics: For the first time ever, the creative director, Hervé Moreau, is using stretch chiffon as an alternative to crystal tulle on gauze to create a second skin effect, sculpting the body and creating new volumes with its delicate texture and fall. The collection still contains fine fabrics such as lace, Mikado silk, crepe and silk gauze. The selection of fabrics also includes Chantilly lace, applied strategically to enhance the designs and emphasise the bride’s figure.

Three key shapes: Designed to fit a woman’s body perfectly, the latest collection features three key shapes: EMPIRE line dresses in fabrics like crepe, and bias cut designs that give a flowing, sculptural effect; MERMAID dresses that are the unmistakable hallmark of the firm’s collection, with stylised lines that skim the bride figure for a sexy, very elegant effect; and VOLUMINOUS gowns in lace and tulle offer delicate, more classic options that will stand the test of time.

Embellishments: Since embellishments are becoming very popular in bridal fashion, many of the dresses feature backs adorned with gemstones, delicate hand embroidery, or plumeti tulle appliqués. Jewels also add a sparkling dimension to gowns, as they bedeck skirts, shoulder straps and sleeves, and bodices, while long, detachable trains fulfill brides’ desires to have a second wedding dress – an all-in-one gown with an overskirt provides an elegant ceremony gown as well as a sleek reception dress once the skirt is removed.
