Celebrities on the Blue Carpet at the Teen Choice Awards 2015

The Teen Choice Awards 2015 took place on Sunday August, 16, at the USC Galen Center in Los Angeles, bringing together some of the hottest young talent in Hollywood right now. Hosted by “Jane the Virgin” star Gina Rodriguez, Josh Peck, and Ludacris, the show honors top talent across music, movies, TV, sports and fashion, making it a melting pot for bold-faced names. And of course, the first stop is the blue carpet.

Unlike some other award shows — which can lead stars to opt for pieces that, while on-trend or from a highly respected designer, can look stuffy or ill-suited for their personalities — the young ladies who were most successful at the TCAs chose playful, graphic ensembles that were both elegant and age-appropriate.

This year there was plenty of risk-taking to be had on the blue carpet, from Bella Thorne’s coral-hot mini dress to Emma Roberts nearly prim Peter Pilotto column to Zendaya’s take on separates (talk about making an impression in a flouncy, off-shoulder top and black skirt). But the showstopper was Britney Spears. The 33-year-old was named 2015’s Style Icon, and proved she deserved the title in a silver mini-dress with a plunging neckline.
